it's all happening...

quickly quickly...

i have not slept for 2 1/2 days. at all. i am moving house, cleaning my old studio, finishing uni, stressing about job and packing to go away - all in approximately 8 hours. but then, when have i ever done something the easy way?

off to italy, croatia and greece for 2-3 weeks on the boat - i'm really looking forward to it, almost as much as i am looking forward to sleeping - but goodness knows when that will be.

ok, more news when i can - should have fairly regular internet access but may be slightly slower to respond than usual.

all in all at the moment though, life is wonderful. it can only get better with sleep.

love love.

city of fountains and rude waiters

Today a few of us went to Aix-en-Provence for a day trip. We survived the madness of the autoroute with a maniac for a bus driver (honestly, how do these people get their driving licences, let alone work for a bus company!?).

We wandered around the streets for a while and stopped to sip a cafe creme under a big red umbrella and beside a beautiful stone fountain. We possibly had the rudest waiter in the whole of France, but he was so ridiculously rude that we found it quite funny! After a bit more wandering about and seeing more fountains than I have seen in my life, we decided to get on the little tourist train that putts about the town with random facts about streets and buildings. After a while we stopped in the middle of the road and didn't know what was going on until we realised someone had left their car on the road blocking an entire roundabout! I wondered where the driver was while there were streets full of traffic waiting to get passed, horns beeping, abuse being shouted, and about 8 police officers walking around the car, wondering what to do! Eventually we managed to squeeze past - I wonder when the owner of the car actually did come back? Perhaps he was watching the whole situation from a nearby cafe thinking it was terribly amusing!

We walked and walked until our feet nearly wore off and then caught the bus back home. All in all, a lovely city - but still deciding whether I should do my masters there.

Now - time to sleep, as I need to get up at 5:30am for my voyage around the Cote d'Azur! We are going from St Tropez to Monte Carlo and lots of places in between - including Cannes Film Festival tomorrow night! I'm very excited, should be a great weekend.

I shall put up the photos of Aix in the next few days, as if I don't go to sleep soon I will never wake up in the morning.

Bonne Nuit!
